The Ramara Youth Action Council (YAC) was established in 2009 as a response to a need to hear the voices of the Youth in Ramara Township. Council members are Ramara Township students who along with their adult mentor are appointed by Township Council. The YAC runs events for youth including youth dances and drop in youth nights. The aim of the YAC in providing this bursary is to provide some financial assistance to a Ramara Township student who will commence this June and will be attending some form of post-secondary education in the 2021-2022 academic year and is an active volunteer in their community. This can include college, university or an apprenticeship program. Applicants will be asked to provide proof of their registration in a program for 2021-2022 and as the students who serve on the YAC are active and dedicated volunteers a commitment to volunteerism will be a focus. There will be two bursaries (of $250 each) awarded – specifically for Ramara residents attending Patrick Fogarty, Twin Lakes or homeschool alternative option. Following are some identifying questions about you as the applicant as well as some questions that will identify your volunteer activities throughout your high school career.
